About our game:

In the game, Three Star Leftovers, the player is the manager of a restaurant. In the restaurant the food served is made with ingredients that can no longer be sold, but can still be used, the business idea being the reduction of food waste. In the few minutes the player has, they have to use all provided ingredients as efficiently as possible, so there will be no waste created. At the end of each day, the waste and rubbish must be sorted and the rent must be paid to the landlord, so they wouldn't close the restaurant.

Story of the game:

Our game project began in January 2020. Our assignment was to create a game that encourages people to reduce the food waste produced in households. The project sounded intereting but challenging for the theme it had to support. At the beginning we had multiple different ideas on how to approach the subject, but we ended up further developing our first idea, with the consent of the client. The project was a first of its kind for all of us, and we attended courses that guided us with project management and the progressing of the project. Also all of the tasks were new to us which hampered the process a bit.

The largest hindrance for the project was the Covi-19 pandemic which lead to our school facilities being closed and the work load was shifted to our homes. It was rewarding to see the game development as we worked on it. Especially as some of the most concrete elements were implemented to the game.
